LB College Promise & Promise 2.0

Post

The Long Beach College Promise and Promise 2.0 extend the opportunity of a college education to every student in the Long Beach Unified School District to create a more vibrant community. This innovative and nationally recognized initiative is transforming the lives of students and the city’s economic future by placing higher education within reach for all. You can make a promise and a life-changing difference for Long Beach City College students. Half a million dollars are awarded through the Long Beach City College Foundation each year to fully fund the Long Beach College Promise and Promise 2.0.

The State of California’s College Promise is very flexible and the funds may be used for a variety of college and living expenses. The Long Beach College Promise (LBCP) will continue to support tuition for students for the second year of classes at LBCC. The LBCP is an exclusive partnership for Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) students. To be eligible, students must enroll at LBCC directly following graduation from an LBUSD high school. The LBCP and Promise 2.0 provide experience programming, career development and mentoring to LBCC students. Promise 2.0 provides transfer admissions pathways to specific majors at California State University Long Beach (CSULB) and dual advisement and future student benefits with CSULB.
