Long Beach City College (LBCC) and the Foundation are proud to have such incredible partners like the Cordoba Corporation. Their dedication to completing the KLAC (Kinesiology Labs and Aquatics Center) is insurmountable and appreciated immensely.

Long Beach City College celebrated the completion of this incredible facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Liberal Arts Campus site on April 1st, 2022. The new athletic facilities will meet the long-term needs of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, providing premiere space where students can learn, train, practice, and compete. Softball, Swimming & Diving, Water Polo, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Tennis, and Beach Volleyball programs will all take advantage of the new KLAC complex.

Here is a closer look into why this partnership is thriving:

How did Cordoba become involved at LBCC?
We initially became involved at LBCC through the procurement of Program and Construction Management services several years ago.  We started with supporting the bond program and had the privilege to grow and support the college in the many other areas where Cordoba shares common values.

How does the partnership with LBCC impact the Cordoba organization?
LBCC is effectively leading our community for transformational change in education and workforce development.  Closing equity gaps, creating inclusive campuses, and delivering excellence in education while providing support to our diverse communities aligns perfectly with Cordoba’s mission of “Making a difference where we live and work.”  It’s a natural fit for us to align ourselves with organizations that support the same values.

What are your hopes and plans as we move forward with the partnership?
As Cordoba continues to grow, we love that we have increased opportunities to invest back in our communities.

What message does Cordoba wish to share with organizations considering joining the LBCC Presidents Circle?
LBCC is truly transforming lives in our community and the LBCC Presidents Circle has its fingers on the pulse of where the need is…  we should all support this worthy cause!
