Erika Santizo
Assistant Professor, Ethnic Studies
A first-generation immigrant student and product of the community college system. She transferred from Santa Monica College to the University of California Santa Cruz where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin American & Latino Studies and History. Her passion for equity and justice inspired her to earn a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies and Social Justice from the University of California Los Angeles. Her academic focus and interests are in Chicanx/Latinx Education, Social Justice Movements, Indigeneity and Latinidad, Latin American Immigration and Queer Chicanx/Latinx Popular Culture.
