***** Disbursement Update *****

We want to make you aware of a delay affecting financial aid disbursements through BankMobile due to possible fraud and security concerns. Unfortunately this issue is affecting colleges across California and is outside of LBCC’s control.

We understand how important these funds are and are actively working to avoid any further delay. As such, we will be issuing financial aid disbursements via paper checks, until we receive confirmation from the Chancellors’ Office that the issue has been resolved with BankMobile.

Action needed: Please review and update your mailing address and contact information by Wednesday, October 7, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

Please review your Personal Details, Address, and Contact Details to ensure they are current.

Our goal is to begin mailing checks later this week. However, the exact timing will depend on final processing and mail delivery.

Virtual Chat Hours

Our Virtual Chat feature for the Financial Aid Office will be available Monday – Thursday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. In office hours will remain Monday – Thursday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

LBCC will be implementing Course Program of Study (CPOS) regulations beginning with Fall 2026 registration. To learn more about these regulations and how they will affect your financial aid eligibility, please visit our CPOS webpage and review our FAQs. More information to come as we approach Fall 2026 registration.

Several major changes will be implemented on July 1, 2026 due to the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OB3) on July 4th, 2025. These updates include changes to the Federal Student Loan Program and the Pell Grant Program. To learn more, please continue to read here.
