The Long Beach City College Black Student Success Center offers invaluable benefits for Black students by fostering meaningful connections within the college and surrounding communities.  The center provides essential and personalized supports, addressing academic and personal needs in a culturally affirming environment.

Students can strengthen their academic skills and confidence in a nurturing, supportive atmosphere with access to workshops, tutoring services, peer mentoring, and networking opportunities. The Black Student Success Center is a vital space for students’ empowerment, growth, and success.

Our Mission

The mission of the Black Student Success Center is to increase student success rates, foster a sense of belonging and mattering, and provide equitable experiences for Black Scholars. By celebrating the African diaspora, we desire to enhance a sense of identity and awareness through various customs and traditions.
