Classified Employee of the Year

The Classified Employee of the Year Award was established through a resolution at the May 2008 Board of Governors meeting. The Award has been given out annually since May 2009 to honor community college classified employees who demonstrate the highest level of commitment to professionalism and community colleges. Recipients are nominated by members of their college/district community and endorsed by their local Board of Trustees.

Distinguished Online Educator

The Distinguished Online Educator Award was founded in 2015 by the Office of Online Learning & Educational Technology (OLET) and the newly formed Online Education Committee.

Effective online education and learning require a great deal of time and dedication. The purpose of this award is to recognize and honor online faculty members who provide innovative and exemplary practices in their online course(s), increasing student equity, engagement, and success.

League Excellence Award

The League for Innovation in the Community Colleges has been dedicated to informing, inspiring, and celebrating innovation in learning, teaching, staff development, and student success for over 50 years, recognizing outstanding faculty, staff, and leaders in the community college field who have made a significant difference in the lives of students and in the communities their colleges serve with the Excellence Awards.

Years of Service Awards

Long Beach City College has an annual tradition of honoring full-time employees for every 5 years of service in recognition of their dedication to the college and our students. Employees reaching 5 to 25 years of service are presented with a pin indicating the milestone reached. At 30, 35 and 40 years and above, honorees are recognized with a special memento commemorating their length of service with the institution.
