An Important Update from Interim Superintendent-President Bynum
Lou Anne Bynum, Interim Superintendent-President
Dear Campus Community,
As of today, March 17, 2020, LBCC is much like the rest of the country’s educational institutions when it comes to the next steps and decisions for our campuses in regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Within this past week alone, we have reminded ourselves (many times) that nothing is certain and that planning for uncertainty isn’t easy. Therefore, please keep in mind that while the current LBCC plan is for classes and offices to resume and open on Mon, April 13, this date is not set in stone. Just in case the return date becomes May or June… or even July, we want all of you to know that LBCC is working on a series of “what-ifs.”
LBCC is taking the commencement ceremony, Summer and Fall registration, Summer session teaching, etc. all under careful consideration with contingency plans. At this point, no decisions have been made, and we will certainly keep the campus community informed through traditional channels of communication – via email, web updates and social media.
We all just need to remain flexible, knowing that the situation is fluid for us all. And above all else, the safety of our students, faculty, and staff will remain paramount.
Thank you all for being in this together (and yet socially distant).
Lou Anne Bynum
Interim Superintendent-President
