Notification of positive COVID-19 case on Campus
Employees
LBCC is aware of one individual at the Liberal Arts Campus Building M construction site who has tested positive for COVID-19. There is no evidence that transmission occurred on Campus. The individual is receiving medical care, and those who may have had close contact with them have been notified.
In compliance with recently enacted law, we are sharing this information with all employees in an abundance of caution and in an effort to be transparent.
The District’s essential labs and authorized on-Campus activities follow the strictest protocols to help ensure the health and safety of the limited number of people who are authorized to be on Campus. All spaces are sanitized regularly, and the spaces accessed by the individual have been thoroughly cleaned in accordance with COVID-19 protocols. Additionally, all people authorized to be on Campus are required to wear masks and maintain a six-foot distance from each other.
Just a reminder, anyone who is approved to come onto campus but tests positive for COVID-19 or is feeling ill should not come onto Campus and should complete the Viking Health Screening. Employees should contact Human Resources at 562-938-5250 or COVID-HRhelp@lbcc.edu for questions regarding benefits and options.
As you are no doubt aware, Los Angeles County is experiencing a high number of cases and has advised not gathering with others outside of your household. For the latest local health orders, visit www.longbeach.gov/coronavirus.
Thank you for doing your part to safeguard our Viking community.
