Injury and Illness Prevention Plan

Pod

The Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) is designed to maintain a safe and healthful workplace for all LBCCD employees, students, and visitors. It ensures compliance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Section 3203, and promotes proactive safety practices throughout the District. The District and its management are dedicated to preventing workplace injuries and illnesses by providing safe working conditions and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.

An effective IIPP improves the safety and health in the workplace. The required elements of an IIPP are 1) purpose, 2) role & responsibility, 3) compliance, 4) communication, 5) hazard assessment, 6) accident/exposure investigation, 7) hazard correction, 8) training and instruction, and 9) record keeping.

Employees are expected to follow established safety rules, use safe work practices, exercise caution in all work activities, and promptly report any unsafe conditions to their supervisors. Supervisors and managers are responsible for correcting unsafe conditions within their areas of responsibility.
