Arnold Maeda Manzanar Pilgrimage Grant

Deadline: January 3, 2025

Eligibility Requirements:

1) The applicant MUST be a college student.
2) The applicant MUST show evidence of how three or more of these focus areas are evident in
their life.
3) The applicant MUST incorporate how their experiences have driven them to make changes
in their life or community.
4) The applicant MUST be willing to work with the Manzanar Committee to work on the 2025
Annual Manzanar Pilgrimage.
5) The Written project MUST use non-euphemistic Terminology (see Euphemisms, Definitions,
and Preferred Terminology pages of application).
6) The applicant MUST complete and sign the media release form.

Annual Scholarships

Keenan Insurance Scholarships

Deadline: Thursday, October 31
Amount: Up to $1,200 per academic year

  • Scholarship preference shall be given to underrepresented students who are working towards a certificate or degree in insurance, risk management, financial services or a related field, such as business administration with a concentration in or focus on the insurance and benefits industry. 
  • Applicants must be eligible for a California College Promise Grant or be experiencing other circumstances demonstrating financial need.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in and complete three (3) units each semester, or the quarter equivalent, in insurance, risk management, financial services, or related courses in order to be eligible to receive a scholarship.

AJ Wang Foundation – Scholarship Fund

Application Period: April 15 - June 1
Amount: $2,000

The AJ Wang Foundation grants scholarships of $2,000 per year for up to three years while attending selected community colleges in the Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange County areas.

Students must meet the following criteria: 

  • Full-time attendance
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Resident or citizen of USA and its territories or DACA and/or Dream Act eligible
  • Have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a graduating high school senior with the goal to attend a community college and earn a degree or certification, and/or meet transfer requirement
  • Submit the application form, letter of application, resume, and latest transcript from 9th grade through at least the first semester of high school senior year to schou88888@gmail.com

Innovation in Education

Deadline: 20th of each month
Website: Los Angeles Tutoring – Innovation in Education Scholarship

LA Tutors awards students who showcase their creativity and make positive impacts with a $500 Innovation in Education scholarship. On an ongoing monthly basis, this scholarship is open to all currently enrolled high school and college students who showcase their creativity while helping those around them (whether that be in a creative fundraiser, an inventive new app, a series of blog posts on a particular theme, etc.). The application deadline is 11:59 pm PST on the 20th of each month.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in high school or college
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (or the equivalent)
  • Must be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada

To Enter:

  • Submit an essay describing their innovative project
  • Provide supporting documentation (i.e. letter of recommendation, news article/website featuring their project, etc.)

National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles
