AD&GE Subcommittee Functions & Responsibilities
At LBCC, the Academic Senate delegates authority of curricular matters to the Curriculum Committee. As such, the Committee is responsible for the development, review, renewal, and recommendation of curriculum to be approved by the Board of Trustees.
In general, the AD&GE Subcommittee is charged to oversee the creation, modification, inactivation of programs as well as modifications made to the General Education Plans A, B, and C.
According to Administrative Procedure 4020, the AD&GE subcommittee’s functions include, but are not limited to:
- Review and recommend to the Curriculum Committee modifications to the Associate Degree and/or Certificates.
- Review and recommend to the Curriculum Committee modifications to the General Education Patterns, and certificates.
- Review and recommend to the Curriculum Committee additions or modifications in proficiency requirements for the college curriculum.
- Review and recommend to the Curriculum Committee the appropriateness of courses to be added to the Associate Degree and General Education requirements and/or patterns.
- Review and recommend to the Curriculum Committee the program descriptions for the catalog.
