LBCC has partnered with Handshake, connecting you with employers who are specifically interested in hiring community college students and recent graduates. The platform uses your major, interests, and skills to recommend relevant opportunities, making it easier to find jobs that align with your career goals.

With Handshake, you can:

• Build your profile to highlight your experience, skills, and interests
• Search and apply for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time roles

Getting Started on Handshake

Every student at LBCC has a Handshake account. Log in to claim your account in one of two ways:

Starting from the Viking Portal: https://lbcc.onbio-key.com/sso

• Log in to your Viking Portal with your Single Sign-On (SSO)
• Find and click Handshake in My Apps
• Create your Handshake profile as directed

Starting from Handshake’s Login Page: https://lbcc.joinhandshake.com/  

• Enter your LBCC student email (…@lbcc.edu), or search for “Long Beach City College”
• Click the button “Long Beach City College Sign On”
• Claim your Handshake account via LBCC’s Single Sign-On (SSO) process
• Create your Handshake profile as directed
