You've completed courses and/or earned a degree from another college or university
Welcome to LBCC!
We invite you to visit our LBCC Welcome Center for application assistance, new student orientations, and other onboarding services. To receive support with transcript evaluation, visit our LBCC Transfer Center. You can chat with staff virtually, or visit in-person at LAC, A-1097 or TTC, EE-105.
STEP 1: Apply to LBCC
Complete the free online college application to apply for admission at LBCC. You may apply for the Summer/Fall or Winter/Spring terms. Be prepared with the following information before starting the application:
- Personal Email Address
- For U.S Citizens/Permanent Residents: Social Security or Alien Registration
- For Undocumented/Dreamer Students: No required documents
- Knowledge of highest-level Math & English course & grade completed
Within 24-72 hours of submitting your completed application, your 7-digit Viking ID number will be sent to you via email. Be sure to save both your CCC ID# and Viking ID#.

STEP 2: Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships
To receive financial support, we recommend that you apply for Financial Aid.
- If you are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident, complete the FAFSA application.
- If you are not a US Citizen or permanent resident but meet AB 540 criteria, you may be eligible for the California Dream Act application.
To ensure LBCC receives your financial aid application, make sure to list LBCC as one of your schools, our code is 001219. After submitting either application, check your email for confirmation of completion. Log into your Viking Student System and Financial Aid account to verify submission. STEP 3: Send Official Transcripts to LBCC’s Admissions & Records Office
Submit your high school and college transcripts from all schools you’ve attended in order to get credit for the courses you completed. All transcripts should be submitted to LBCC’s Admissions & Records office. The evaluation of an official transcript will only take place when the student meets with an LBCC counselor and creates an Educational Plan (Degree Planner).
Please Note: Students will receive an email when their transcript is received and has been routed for evaluation. This process may take approximately two weeks. STEP 4: Meet with a Counselor to Create an Educational Plan (Degree Planner)
Before registering for classes, meet with a counselor to discuss your desired educational goal and create an Educational Plan (Degree Planner) to reach it. LBCC counselors offer a range of services, including: Academic Counseling, Career Exploration, Educational Planning, College Transfer, etc. There will be varying availability that is subject to change. If you do not see any available appointments, please check back the next day.

STEP 5: Register for Classes
Now that you’ve met with a counselor and completed your Ed Plan (Degree Planner), you can register for classes during your registration date & time. The earlier you register for classes, the more available classes you will find. View important Registration Dates and Drop Deadlines.
Note: New course numbering for select courses is being implemented at LBCC beginning Fall 2025. Visit the Common Course Numbering page for more information.
- Go to www.lbcc.edu and click on “Viking Portal” on the top left corner. Enter your LBCC Viking ID Email & Password. Approve the sign in request via phone or Microsoft Authenticator mobile app.
- Access your “Viking Student System” & click the “Registration & Schedule” tab
- Click “Build Schedule” & then “Class Search and Enroll”
- Select Term (ex. Fall 2026)
- Enter course SUBJECT & NUMBER from your Ed Plan (ex. COUNS 48)
- Review course options including days, times, and location
- Click on the desired course
- Go through a 4-Step confirmation process
- Continue by selecting “Accept.” If applicable, enter your class Permission # (given by professor).
- On step 3 of 4, select “Enroll” and click “Next”
- Confirm Enrollment.

STEP 6: Pay Student Fees
After completing the online registration, students can pay for their student fees through their Viking Student Portal. Students are required to pay for their account balance prior to the due date to avoid being dropped from classes. Students can also pay for student fees in-person at the Cashier’s Office: LAC (A-1081) or TTC (GG-101). View all fees on LBCC’s Student Fees page.
- Go to www.lbcc.edu and click on “Viking Portal” on the top left corner. Enter your LBCC Viking ID Email & Password. Approve the sign in request via phone or Microsoft Authenticator mobile app.
- Access your “Viking Student System” and click the “Student Account” tab.
- Click “Make a Payment” & click “Continue to Nelnet.”
- You can select “Make a Payment” or “Set up a Payment Plan.”
