Deciding on a major is an important decision, yet can be a difficult one to make. At Long Beach City College, we encourage you to begin to explore your major and career options as early as possible. The Long Beach City College MyMajors career assessment instrument is one of the many ways we offer to assist you with this decision.

MyMajors considers your academic achievements, interests, and personality to recommend top majors that appear to fit you best and ones that you might be interested in pursuing while in college. After completing the assessment, schedule an appointment to meet with a Career Counselor to review the recommendations. Here are some reminders:

Step 1 – Complete the Assessment

  1.  Use your email address and create a password of your choice.
  2. Be sure to have your student ID, high school/college transcripts, GPA, SAT or ACT scores (if available) on hand. Complete as much of the academic information as you can, but know that you can skip any questions you do not have answers to.
  3. Answer each question to the best of your ability, and remember to BE HONEST. Think of your ideal day, activities you enjoy doing, and the talents and strengths that you possess. This is not about others have told you to do; this is about the true, authentic YOU.
