LBCC PRIDE: Together in Transition: A Space for Growth & Support – Coordinated by the LGBTQIA+ Workgroup

        Date/Time: Tuesday, February 25, 12:00PM - 2:00PM
 Location: LAC T1200

This luncheon honors the legacy of Marsha P. Johnson, a trailblazing Black trans activist who fought tirelessly for trans rights and liberation. Rooted in the tradition of Black resilience, community care, and advocacy, this gathering provides a space for trans students and their loved ones to connect, heal, and access affirming resources. While open to everyone, this event centers Black and African American experiences, recognizing the unique challenges faced in today’s political climate. In the spirit of Marsha’s fight for justice, attendees will have the opportunity to take action by writing letters to representatives, advocating for policies that protect and uplift Black trans lives. More than just a meal, this is a moment of remembrance, empowerment, and collective strength—because as Marsha reminded us, no pride without justice.
The LBCC PRIDE workshop series is designed to celebrate and bring awareness to the needs of our LGBTQIA+ community. Rather than holding Pride Month in June, when the campus sees a pronounced dip in foot traffic, the intent is to spread these themed events throughout the year.
