LBCC Foundation Seeking Nominations for Alumni Hall of Fame

The Long Beach City College Foundation is seeking community input to nominate successful LBCC alumni for its prestigious Hall of Fame.


Since 1972, the College has annually inducted former students who have excelled in their chosen field or philanthropic endeavors. Actor John Amos, former Mayor Beverly O’Neill, Vice Mayor Dee Andrews, Long Beach Unified School District Superintendent Chris Steinhauser, educator Dr. Minnie Douglas, Long Beach Chief of Police Robert Luna, and Press-Telegram Columnist Tim Grobaty are just a few examples of public figures who have been inducted, along with other prominent LBCC alumni.

Nominations can be made by completing the Hall of Fame form on the LBCC Alumni Association website. You can also submit a nomination letter along with any available background information (resume, news clipping, link to news articles, etc.) to the LBCC Foundation Office, attn.: Paula Barrow, Mail Code B-12, 4901 E. Carson Street, Long Beach, CA 90808. Nominations may also be emailed to Paula Barrow.

The deadline to nominate for the 2019 Hall of Fame is Fri., March 29. The 2019 Hall of Fame will take place on Wed., Nov. 6 at The Grand with the time to be announced.
