Nick Carbonaro
Professor, Business Administration
I have a story most students can relate to. Having started my private sector career at Costco Wholesale as a part-time employee while being a full-time Long Beach City College student in 2004, I moved into management for the warehouse giant upon my graduation in 2008 from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. While being in management at Costco, I earned my MBA from California State University, Fullerton. Prior to becoming an Assistant Professor at LBCC, I was also a member of the adjunct faculty at LBCC, Cerritos College as well as El Camino College. I have taught many different business subjects; but, currently, I teach Digital and Social Media, and Personal Finance. I am also co-advisor to the LBCC Business Club.
I consider LBCC a second home. My father and grandmother worked at LBCC. My father and mother met on campus. All three of my siblings have attended LBCC and as a student at LBCC, I was a member of the President’s Ambassadors.
Outside of the classroom I am married and have 2 amazing children that are everything to me. Having a wife that is also an alumnus of USC, you will see our family on Saturdays watching the Men of Troy dominate the gridiron. Besides Trojan football, I love worshipping Jesus Christ at Calvary Chapel Signal Hill where I serve in the Children’s Ministry, watching the Lakers and the Angels, as well as cheering on my son at his water polo games and my daughter at her cheer competitions. As a millennial, I am glued to social media feeds (mainly X, Instagram, and YouTube) so I am always up to date on the current social, political and financial trends dominating the internet.
To reach me either drop by my office, call, or email and I would love to hear your story!
