First-Gen Career Industry Panel

I Got Money Moves: Leveling Up Your First Gen Finances

Sip n Science – First Gen Edition

Nicholas Rajen-Diné (Oneida, Navajo Nation) holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of New Mexico and an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Riverside. He will serve as the guest speaker for Sip n Science: A First-Gen and STEM Discussion, where he will share insights on bridging Indigenous knowledge, scientific inquiry, and first-generation experiences in higher education. A multidisciplinary scientist, Nic works at the intersection of agriculture, energy, and ecology, with experience spanning materials science, arid lands farming, environmental restoration, and Tribal College administration. His work centers on regenerative agriculture, soil science, and sustainable energy through agrivoltaics, alongside advocating for Indigenous representation in STEM. An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation and Kinyaa’áanii Diné/East Indian descent, he champions the integration of Indigenous empirical knowledge with modern science to advance culturally grounded and sustainable innovation.
