The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
NAEYC is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research.
California Association for the Education of Young Children
Following 40 years of growth and development, CAAEYC has become a vital force uniting educators of young children and advocating for political and professional leadership. CAAEYC sponsors an annual state conference bringing together providers of service across the state as well as leaders from approximately 28 affiliates and dozens of partner organizations.
North American Reggio Alliance
The North American Reggio Emilia Alliance exists to connect early childhood educators and advocates together in discovering, interpreting, and promoting Reggio Emilia inspired education. NAREA believes in the inherent abilities and basic rights of children and adults, particularly with regard to their competence and right to actively construct relations, knowledge, feelings, and identity.
Child Development Training Consortium
CDTC provides services, training, technical assistance, and resources to students and professionals working with and for children. In doing so, we help promote professionalism and high quality early care and education programs that benefit California’s children and families.
California Early Childhood Mentor Program
The California Early Childhood Mentor Program provides resources and support to aspiring and experienced teachers and administrators in programs serving children birth to five and before- and after-school programs.
Center for the Childcare Workforce (CCW)
CCW advocated for public policy to restructure the early care and education delivery system to better address the issues of workforce recruitment and compensation, researched and documented the status and influenced organizing strategies that emphasized a unified voice for early care and education teachers and providers.
Teaching Tolerance
Teaching Tolerance provides free resources to educators—teachers, administrators, counselors and other practitioners—who work with children from kindergarten through high school.
McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership
The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership is dedicated to improving the quality of early learning programs through professional development, research and evaluation, and public awareness.
Child Care Exchange
Exchange is committed to supporting early childhood professionals worldwide in their efforts to craft early childhood environments where adults and children thrive – environments that foster friendship, curiosity, self-esteem, joy, and respect; where the talents of all are fully challenged and justly rewarded.
California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
The major purpose of the agency is to serve as a state standards board for educator preparation for the public schools of California, the licensing and credentialing of professional educators in the State, the enforcement of professional practices of educators, and the discipline of credential holders in the State of California.
California Community Care Licensing
The agency serves the most vulnerable people of California and our mission is to promote the health, safety, and quality of life of each person in community care through the administration of an effective and collaborative regulatory enforcement system.

California Preschool Learning Foundations
The California Preschool Learning Foundations outline key knowledge and skills that most children can achieve when provided with the kinds of interactions, instruction, and environments that research has shown to promote early learning and development.
WestED
Success for every learner is WestEd’s prime focus and has been for more than five decades. A nonpartisan, nonprofit research, development, and service agency working with education and other communities throughout the United States and abroad, WestEd aims to improve education and other important outcomes for children, youth and adults.
Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC)
The Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), developed collaboratively by WestEd and the California Department of Education, is a comprehensive training system that promotes responsive, caring relationships for infants and toddlers and employs evidence-based training materials and strategies for the early education field.
Desired Results Developmental Profile
Research shows that children who attend high quality programs are more successful in school, have lower drop out rates, and are better readers. The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Learning and Care Division (ELCD), has established the Desired Results System to improve program quality in early care and education programs across the state.
CompSAT
In California, early childhood educators have established a comprehensive set of expectations for our profession, set forth in the California Department of Education Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Competencies. CompSAT is the companion to the CA ECE Competencies. CompSAT guides early educators through a process of self-reflection and authentic assessment in the 12 competency areas detailed in the ECE Competencies.
