We celebrate Black Heritage Month to recognize the achievements and contributions of Black and African Americans who have inspired others to achieve success. Join LBCC in celebrating Black/African American culture and history through a series of wonderful events throughout the month of February. All virtual events will either be hosted through Zoom or presented through our official Long Beach City College YouTube channel.

Pan-African Flag Raising

Date/Time: Tuesday, February 10th, 11:30AM – 11:55AM
Location: LAC Flagpole near the T-Building

Join us as we celebrate Black History Month and honor the African diaspora. The raising of the Pan-African flag recognizes the contributions of Black communities and symbolizes the ongoing fight for equality and justice. This ceremony will honor the shared heritage of people of African descent.


Black History Month Kickoff: A Hundred Years of Joy: Celebrating Our History, Legacy, & Power

Date/Time Tuesday, February 10th, 12:00PM – 2:00PM
Location: LAC – T1200

The Kick-Off event is designed to open the month’s festivities/activities by bringing the campus community together in a celebratory fashion to enjoy food, music, entertainment, and curated resources.

BHM Karaoke Night – Coordinated by the SJIC

The Karaoke/Open Mic series is designed to share space in a celebratory way to elevate the voices of and highlight the talent in our campus community. 


The Power of You: Owning Your Brand
