Regional Equity and Recovery Partnerships (RERP)
Academic and wraparound support for students

Post

The Regional Equity & Recovery Partnership (RERP) program provides academic and wraparound support for college students enrolled in employment training or certification programs. This program supports students in the following industries: Automotive Technology, Logistics, Construction, Healthcare, Information Technology (IT), and Social Work. RERP guides students to successfully be placed into an internship or a full-time employment position while their training and certification is completed. RERP works in partnership with the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network (LBWIN) to provided services such as, academic enrollment fees reimbursements, travel and equipment cost, and additional support. RERP participants co-enroll with LBWIN to access those additional services.

The Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network (LBWIN) is the City’s workforce development system, connecting residents to occupational skills training scholarships, work experience, On-the-Job Training (OJT), Incumbent Worker Training (IWT), supportive services, and employer engagement support. For businesses, LBWIN reimburses a portion of trainees’ wages, helps design customized training, and arranges paid work placements at no cost to the employer.

LBWIN participates in the Regional Equity & Recovery Partnership (RERP), a state-funded California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) grant program created to deepen collaboration between workforce boards and community colleges.

Through RERP, LBWIN, and LBCC co-design aligned curricula, stackable credentials, work-based learning, and shared supportive systems, ensuring that training pathways more effectively connect underserved learners to quality jobs.
