Recommended Preparation
The EMT program is highly intensive and covers a large amount of information in a short time. To be successful, students should have relatively strong reading comprehension, study, and test-taking skills, and/or have at least a general familiarity and understanding of basic concepts in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
If you are not a strong student in terms of reading comprehension ability, study skills, and taking multiple choice tests, we strongly recommend that you take a basic anatomy/physiology course (ANAT1/PHYSI1) and a medical terminology course (AH60) before beginning the EMT program.
