Long Beach City College Appoints New Vice President, Associate Vice President & Director
Candace Jones is the Vice President of Administrative and Business Services, Rick von Kolen is the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, and Fabiola Huerta is the Director of Administrative and Business Services.
The Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Board of Trustees recently approved the selection of Candace Jones as the Vice President of Administrative and Business Services, Rick von Kolen as Associate Vice President of Human Resources, and Fabiola Huerta as the Director of Administrative and Business Services for Long Beach City College (LBCC).
North Long Beach Higher Education Center Mural Wins International Davey Award
The Mural Depicting Life in North Long Beach Won a Gold Award in the Outdoor Signage Category
The North Long Beach Higher Education Center, a collaborative effort between Long Beach City College (LBCC) and the City of Long Beach, received a prestigious 2024 Davey Award, Gold Winner, in the category of Outdoor/Environmental Signage & Environmental Graphics for its striking exterior mural depicting life in North Long Beach.
“We’re so proud that the North Long Beach Higher Education Center mural received this important recognition,” said Uduak-Joe Ntuk, LBCC Board of Trustees President. “It reflects the vibrant spirit of North Long Beach and showcases LBCC’s deep commitment to serving and uplifting our community. This artwork symbolizes the incredible synergy that happens when LBCC partners with local nonprofits like the Puente Latino Association on meaningful collaborations.”

FIRST TWO YEARS FREE AT LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE
Incoming LBUSD high school graduates who enroll at LBCC in the Fall semester immediately following graduation from high school are eligible to have their enrollment fees covered for two years. Students must meet eligibility criteria and complete a participation agreement (deadlines apply).
