Long Beach City College Seeking New Members for Citizens Oversight Committee
The deadline to apply for Senior Citizen and At-Large positions is Oct. 13, 2022
The Long Beach Community College District is currently accepting applications for one Senior Citizen’s Organization representative and a Community-at-Large representative to serve on the Citizens’ Oversight Committee.
Applicants for the Senior Citizen spot must be a member of any current and active organization that advocates for senior citizens that is active within the District boundaries.
LBCC Raises Pride Flag in Honor of Harvey Milk Day
The Pride Flag will remain up throughout the month of June for Pride Month
During a ceremony on Mon., May 23, Long Beach City College celebrated Harvey Milk Day by raising the Pride Flag. The Pride Flag will fly at both the Pacific Coast Campus and Liberal Arts Campus and will remain until the end of June, which is the month nationally recognized as Pride Month.
LBCC Announces 2022 Commencement Keynote Speaker
Selena: The Series Creator/Writer/Filmmaker Moisés Zamora to address Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 on June 9
Long Beach City College (LBCC) announced that writer and filmmaker Moisés Zamora has been selected to serve as the keynote speaker for its first in-person Commencement Ceremony in three years on Thurs., June 9, 2022.
“We wanted to select someone that represents success after overcoming the odds,” said Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Board of Trustees President Uduak-Joe Ntuk. “This person needed to be dynamic enough to address all three years of graduating classes and I know we have that individual in Moisés Zamora.”
