LBCC Superintendent-President Dr. Mike Muñoz Appointed By LT. Governor to Serve on Transfer Degree Committee
California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis appointed Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Superintendent-President Dr. Mike Muñoz to the Associate Degree for Transfer Intersegmental Implementation Committee, as the representative from an educational equity and social justice organization.
Long Beach City College Seeking New Committee Members
Opening for three District Residents to join the Citizens Oversight Committee
Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Citizens’ Oversight Committee (COC) is now accepting applications from community members for two Community-at-Large positions and one Senior Citizens’ Organization representative. The application period to apply to become a member of the COC will run through Thurs., March 31, 2022.
Citizens’ Oversight Committee applicants must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the LBCCD boundary, which includes the cities of Avalon, Lakewood, Long Beach, and Signal Hill.
SW Regional Council of Carpenters Donates Food to LBCC Students
The Carpenters also donated 5,000 KN-95 masks
The Long Beach City College (LBCC) received a donation of 90 cases of food, and 5,000 KN-95 masks on Thurs., Feb. 3 from the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters. The food was collected for the College’s Viking Vault food pantries and will be distributed to Long Beach City College students in need.
