Instruction to Remain Mostly Online for Spring 2021
Long Beach City College officials have announced that Spring 2021 semester classes will be conducted mostly online. The Spring semester will take place Feb. 8 – June 9, 2021.
The College has kept both campuses closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, holding the remainder of Spring, Summer intersession, and the current Fall 2020 semester primarily online.
LBCC Oversight Committee Seeking New Member
Applications for Local Business Community Member being accepted through October 2
The Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Citizens’ Oversight Committee (COC), which oversees District bond projects, is seeking a new member to represent the Local Business Community. Applications are now being accepted and are due by Fri., Oct. 2, 2020.
LBCCD Board of Trustees President Recognized with Regional Trustee Award
Vivian Malauulu received the ACCT 2020 Pacific Regional Trustee Leadership Award
Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Board of Trustees President Vivian Malauulu has won the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) 2020 Pacific Regional Trustee Leadership Award.
LBCC Winter Intersession To Be Online Only
Long Beach City College officials have announced that Winter 2021 intersession classes will be conducted entirely online. Winter intersession term will take place Jan. 4 – Feb. 6, 2021.
LBCC is currently revising the Winter schedule that will be made available on Sept. 21, 2020 at www.LBCC.edu. Registration for classes will begin Oct. 19, 2020. Community members can visit the LBCC website to sign up for classes.
Rotary Donates $10,000 to LBCC Emergency Fund
The Long Beach City College Student Emergency Fund recently received a generous donation of $10,000 from the Long Beach Rotary Charitable Foundation (LBRCF).
Viking Hearts: Together Apart Donating Masks to Colleagues
Cathy Crane and Daron Sorg from the Performing Arts Department got their sewing machines out to create nearly 100 masks. These masks were given out to Long Beach City College’s essential workers who are still on campus. Each mask took approximately one hour each to make.
