Advisory Committees
The Budget Advisory Committee, Facilities Advisory Committee, and Citizens’ Oversight Committee fall under the auspices of Administrative Services. The Budget Advisory Committee and the Facilities Advisory Committee are both participative governance committees stemming from the campus’ College Planning Committee. The Citizens’ Oversight Committee is formed under the guidelines of Proposition 39 and contains members of the community with oversight responsibility of the District’s general obligation bond funds.
The Long Beach Community College District (the District) was successful at the elections conducted on February 5, 2008, in obtaining authorization from the District’s voters to issue up to $440,000,000 aggregate principal amount of the District’s general obligation bonds and again on June 7, 2016, in obtaining authorization from the District’s voters to issue up to $850,000,000 aggregate principal amount of the District’s general obligation bonds, each pursuant to a fifty-five percent (55%) vote.
